The ROOTED Method™

Clarity Before You Make One of the Biggest Financial Decisions of Your Divorce

Whether you're hoping to keep your home, considering selling, or simply trying to understand your options, the ROOTED Method provides personalized guidance before important financial decisions become permanent.

This isn't a sales call. It's a strategy session designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Divorce Doesn't Come With a Housing Playbook.

Most people receive legal advice.

Some receive financial advice.

Almost no one receives guidance on how mortgage financing, settlement terms, home equity, support income, and lending guidelines work together.

That can lead to expensive decisions that are difficult—or impossible—to reverse.

The ROOTED Method was created to help bridge that gap.

The ROOTED Experience

What Happens During Your ROOTED Session

01 — Before

You’re overwhelmed by opinions.

Friends. Family. Attorneys. Lenders. Internet advice.

Everyone seems to have an opinion, but none of it feels specific to your situation.

02 — During

Together we’ll organize the pieces of your financial picture.

We’ll review your goals, income, home equity, mortgage details, affordability, and realistic housing options so you understand what is actually possible—not just what you hope is possible.

03 — After

You’ll leave with clarity.

Not because someone made the decision for you…

Because you’ll finally understand your options.

Why Work With Me

A Different Kind of Mortgage Professional

For more than 30 years, I’ve helped individuals and families navigate important mortgage decisions.

Today, I focus exclusively on helping divorcing homeowners understand how mortgage guidelines and settlement decisions intersect before agreements become final.

My role isn’t to persuade you toward one outcome.

It’s to help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

The ROOTED Promise

What I Can Promise

I can’t promise you’ll be able to keep your home.

I can’t promise you’ll qualify for a mortgage.

I can’t promise what your settlement agreement will ultimately look like.

But I can promise you'll leave with a clearer understanding of your options than when you arrived, along with a personalized roadmap to help you move forward with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered

The ROOTED Method is designed for anyone navigating a divorce or separation who has questions about their home. Whether you’re hoping to keep the home, considering selling, or simply trying to understand your options, this session provides clarity before important financial decisions are made.

No. In fact, many clients meet with me early in the process. Understanding your housing options before negotiations begin can help you make more informed decisions and ask better questions throughout your divorce.

You don’t need everything to get started. Once you schedule your session, you’ll receive a questionnaire along with a list of recommended documents. If something isn’t available yet, we’ll work with the information you have and identify anything needed for a more complete analysis.

No. The ROOTED Method is an educational strategy session, not a loan application. Our focus is helping you understand your housing options, how mortgage guidelines may apply to your situation, and what steps may be available to you before making major financial decisions. If you later decide to move forward with financing, we can discuss that separately.

Absolutely. Many clients find it helpful to include members of their professional team so everyone has the same understanding of the available housing options and financial considerations.

My role isn’t to make the decision for you. My goal is to help you understand the financial implications of each option so you can make a confident, informed decision that aligns with your goals and circumstances.

That’s perfectly okay. The purpose of the ROOTED Method isn’t to convince you to keep your home—it’s to help you identify the path that’s most appropriate for your unique situation. Sometimes that’s keeping the home, and sometimes it’s creating a plan for a fresh start.

You’ll receive your personalized ROOTED Housing Strategy Summary, which outlines the key topics we discussed, your potential housing options, important considerations, and recommended next steps. If you choose to move forward with financing or need additional support, we can discuss those services at that time.

Yes. Everything you share during your ROOTED Method session is treated with professionalism and confidentiality. While this is not a legal consultation, your personal and financial information is handled with care and respect.

That’s exactly why this session exists. Most people don’t know what they don’t know during a divorce. My role is to guide the conversation, identify important financial and mortgage considerations, and help you understand the questions that matter before you make decisions that could affect your future.

Your bank can explain the loan products they offer. The ROOTED Method looks at the bigger picture. During our session, we evaluate how your divorce settlement, income, support, home equity, existing mortgage, long-term affordability, and future goals work together. The objective isn’t simply to determine whether you qualify for a loan—it’s to help you understand your housing options so you can make informed decisions before finalizing your divorce.
